History
An exciting journey begins
Sveflow’s journey began back in 1986 in a basement in Sollentuna, when the founder Lars created the company. Before starting Sveflow, he spent ten years at Bröderne Herrmann, a process equipment company where he ran all the processes himself. The idea came to him that he could do this on his own and soon after, Sveflow was founded.
The mobile office
The basement premises that Lars rented from an electronics company became the base for our business. He acquired a motor home in which he travelled around to present the company and build strong personal relationships. Thanks to many kilometres behind the wheel and with the conviction that anything is possible, Lars gradually built up Sveflow.
Pretty soon we had outgrown the basement premises and took over the entire middle floor of the building to accommodate our warehouse. It didn’t take long for the business to flourish, so much so that we needed an even bigger space, which resulted in Lars buying the entire property.
Expanded range and a stronger offering
Thanks to all the hard work, we continued to grow and expanded both the product range and the workforce. We could now offer a more complete solution to our customers. Both our network and our knowledge grew, which allowed Sveflow to further consolidate its position in the market.
In 1996, we once again outgrew our premises and moved to our current property in Sollentuna. Over the years, Sveflow’s expansion continued and in 2003 we invested in warehouse lifts before building another warehouse in 2009 to cater for the increased demand. It was also the last project Lars pursued before he took well-deserved retirement.
Next generation takes over
When Lars left the company, his son Stefan stepped in and took over as CEO. Together with his sister Åsa, who has been with the company for many years, Sveflow continued on the journey that their father had embarked upon. Over the next few years, we expanded further, purchased several warehouse elevators and expanded the warehouse space as the business grew. In 2015, we opened a branch in Uppsala to be closer to the local pharmaceutical industry. In 2021, we bought a plot of land to safeguard Sveflow’s future expansion.
Anything is possible
Today, Sveflow consists of a whole team of competent people. What several of them have in common is that they started their journey in the warehouse to learn the business from the ground up. This means that we’re all very knowledgeable about the products we sell and understand which solutions are best suited for different needs.
A lot has changed since it all started in 1986, but the desire to provide our customers with the right solutions and good service is the same now as it has always been. The conviction that “anything is possible” feels more relevant than ever and is a mindset we will always carry with us and work towards. The difference now is that we’re bigger and we’ve come further on our journey since we started, but all without losing the family feeling in the company. And that’s something we’re proud of.
